NZ Paragliding competition rules

2011/2012 NZ Open FAI Cat2 Competitions...



There are two NZOPEN competitions to be held in the 2011/12 season. Points from both rounds will count towrds the NZ Championships
Round 1 Nelson Jan 21-28
Round 2 Rotorua Feb 25-Mar 3.

THE NZ OPEN AND NZ CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL BE SERIAL CLASS COMPETITIONS FOR THE 2011/12 SEASON. Gliders must be certified EN D or lower and flown within the certified weight range. Competition rules require that every pilot shall fly with: emergency parachute;altimeter; helmet; protective backplate; UHF radio; GPS; and a current WOF.If you are flying in FAI recognised competitions (and want your points recorded by the FAI in the world rankings) you will need to have an FAI Sports Licence. Regional Competitions


Regional Competition coordinators may propose dates for RCs at short notice ( min 5 days). Check the competitions page on the NZHGPA forum for the latest information. Where possible earlier notice will be given here.

If you would like a Regional Competition run in your area it is easy to arrange. The PCC can send you all the information and the rules and requirements. You need to give at east 5 days notice to pilots via the NZHGPA comps forum, organise the sites and weather and have a minimum of 10 pilots enter. The PCC can help with scoring via the internet.
