NZHGPA Paraglider Tow Ratings

The NZHGPA Paragliding Tow Manual has been available for purchase from the book room for several years, this document has now been withdrawn. This document also contained the paraglider tow rating forms. Recently the paragliding tow manual has been revised and the tow rating forms have been separated from the manual.

Four paraglider tow ratings now exist;
· PTP Paraglider Tow Pilot
· PTOI Paraglider Tow Operator Pay In
· PTOO Paraglider Tow Operator Pay Out
· PTI Paraglider Tow Instructor

The revised paraglider tow manual, background reading and rating forms can be found on the NZHGPA web site.

No paraglider tow ratings have been issued by the NZHGPA to date. Those pilots who believe they may qualify for any of the NZHGPA tow ratings listed above may apply for those ratings by completing the following process:

1. Request a copy of the paragliding tow examination from the NZHGPA paragliding training manager.
2. Complete the paragliding tow examination.
3. Complete the applicable paragliding tow rating form.
4. Copy any log book entries relating to paragliding tow activities or provide documents showing tow experience.
5. Send the completed rating forms, proof of tow experience and completed paragliding tow examination to the NZHGPA paragliding training manager.
6. The NZHGPA paragliding training manager will mark the examination, sign the rating forms and forward the documents to the NZHGPA Administrator for processing.

NOTE: No rating fee is payable.
