Soon, all NZHGPA Instructors should receive a batch of individually numbered and authorised TEMPORARY VISITOR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION & TEMPORARY VISITOR PILOT CERTIFICATE forms. All visiting pilots, unless obtaining full membership and another pilot certificate (rating), must have completed one of these forms and have it validated by an NZHGPA Instructor, prior to flying in NZ.
Civil Aviation Rules require every pilot flying an aircraft in New Zealand to hold an appropriate New Zealand Pilot Certificate issued by a delegation holder. In the NZHGPA the delegation holders are the NZHGPA President and Administrator. The form must contain the signature of one of these delegation holders.
The form has been formatted into an A5 booklet. Contained within the booklet is information relating to flying in NZ as well as guidance on how to complete the form.
When complete, the application form/booklet needs to be signed be an NZHGPA Instructor to validate it.
Anyone instructor who is uncertain how to use the new form should contact Mark Hardman for advice (hardmanmark@hotmail.com).
